Both novelists are able to depict the Islamic visions through the themes and issues, and also through the language, styles and characters portrayed in novels together with modern techniques.
Meanwhile, Shahnon’s novels deal with local issues and the Malay Archipelago. Besides that, al-Kilani’s novels address important issues pertaining to the Arab and Islamic world. Abstract Even though there have been a large number of studies conducted on Najib al-Kilani and Shahnon Ahmad, these studies are independent in both region, Therefore, this study is conducted to analyse the novels of both authors which deal with all aspects of life.
